The student is required to select information for assessing the patient and is sometimes required to actively participate in collecting data. As labor progresses, the student selects appropriate interventions based on identified nursing diagnoses. There are three distinct sections of the program presented at the main menu: 1) beginning of admission, 2) beginning of labor, 3) beginning of delivery There are other entry options which allow the student to enter the program at numerous other points, such as delivery, immediate postpartum, and at a complication that results in a Caesarean section.
